Demand for mutual travel between citizens of Azerbaijan and China is demonstrating steady positive dynamics, Zhang Yang, Director of the Baku representative office of China Southern Airlines, said during a formal event marking the 20th anniversary of the carrier's office in Baku, Report informs.
"Against the backdrop of intensifying trade and economic cooperation, Chinese companies are actively implementing projects in Azerbaijan, and the need for mutual travel among citizens is steadily increasing. The entry into force of the agreement on mutual visa exemption for ordinary passport holders deserves special attention. Residents of both countries now have the opportunity to travel without visa requirements. This policy advantage has dramatically revitalized the tourism and business sectors, providing a strong impetus to the development of the aviation industry," Zhang Yang emphasized.
He noted that the consistent simplification of visa procedures has significantly lowered the threshold for international travel, leading more Azerbaijani citizens to visit China for tourism, education, and business, while an increasing number of Chinese citizens travel to Baku.
The head of the representative office stated that marking the 20th anniversary of air service and office operations in Baku, China Southern Airlines intends to continue serving as an aerial envoy of Sino-Azerbaijani friendship and partnership.
"We will continue to improve our route network, enhance flight reliability, raise ground service quality, and develop connecting products to provide passengers of both countries with even safer, more comfortable, and high-class aviation services. We look forward to further expanding practical cooperation with the embassy, aviation regulators, Heydar Aliyev International Airport, and all our partners to fully leverage the benefits of the visa-free regime," Zhang Yang added.
