Mine explosion injures man in Azerbaijan's Aghdara district

A landmine explosion occurred on September 10 in the area of Papravand village in the liberated Aghdara district, according to a joint statement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), SİA informs.

As a result of the incident, Tartar district resident Sarkhan Rustamzada, born in 2005, stepped on an anti-personnel mine while riding a horse in an uncleared area. Rustamzada sustained minor injuries in the incident.

The citizen was evacuated from the dangerous area by ANAMA personnel.

An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Tartar District Prosecutor's Office.

ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office once again called on citizens to follow safety rules, pay close attention to mine hazard signs, avoid touching suspicious objects, not enter unfamiliar areas, and not interfere with areas where fencing activities are being carried out.
