EU welcomes agreements reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia

The European Union welcomes the agreements reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the completion of negotiations on a draft peace agreement and the establishment of interstate relations, SİA informs, citing the statement made on behalf of Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission.

The EU highly appreciates the persistent efforts of both sides in this direction over the past few years, both at the bilateral level and with the involvement of the international community, the statement reads.

The current agreement represents a decisive step toward establishing lasting peace and security in the region. According to the statement, it is crucial to maintain this momentum and ensure the successful completion of the process with the same forward-looking and compromise-oriented approach from both sides.

The EU fully supports the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and is ready to provide additional assistance and expertise on such matters if requested by the parties, the document states.
