Kazakhstan offers Azerbaijan to implement joint projects in the fields of pharmaceuticals and tourism, Report informs referring to the press service of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Baku.
This issue was discussed at a meeting between Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov and Ambassador of Kazakhstan Alim Bayel.
"The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic, investment, transport and logistics, energy and construction spheres," the information says.
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in January-April of this year increased by 20%. At the meeting, it was noted that in 2025, Kazakhstan became the main supplier of wheat to Azerbaijan for the first time, providing 88% of Azerbaijan's grain imports. Jabbarov emphasized that the development of economic cooperation with Kazakhstan is of strategic importance for Azerbaijan.
In this context, the minister highly appreciated the implementation of such major joint projects as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), the laying of a fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) along the bottom of the Caspian Sea, the transit of Kazakh energy resources through the territory of Azerbaijan, as well as the agreement on laying a deep-sea electric cable along the bottom of the Caspian Sea. In addition, the Ambassador proposed to establish joint production of infusion solutions in Kazakhstan and for the Azerbaijani side to build a health resort complex on the shore of Lake Alakol.
"The parties also discussed the further expansion of the activities of construction companies in the construction of housing and social facilities. It was noted that a number of Kazakh companies have already begun construction of medical facilities and housing in Azerbaijan. The possibility of cooperation in this area in Kazakhstan is being considered," the diplomatic mission emphasizes.
