Azerbaijan marks 107th anniversary of the establishment of its Armed Forces

Today marks the founding day of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, SİA reports.

The Armed Forces of Azerbaijan were established in Ganja by a decision of the Parliament of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on June 26, 1918.

After the collapse of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1920, the army was disbanded, and on October 9, 1991, it was re-established by a decision of the Supreme Soviet.

Currently, Azerbaijan is considered the most powerful country in the South Caucasus in terms of both combat capability and material-technical resources.

The structure of the Armed Forces includes the Land Forces, the Air Force, and Air Defense Troops, and the Navy.

Today, the people of Azerbaijan celebrate Armed Forces Day with great joy and pride. Under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the glorious Azerbaijani Army has defeated the Armenian armed forces that had occupied Azerbaijani territories for 30 years. Azerbaijan's ancestral and historical land, Karabakh, has been liberated from enemy occupation. Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty have been restored.
