Azerbaijan is open to cooperation with Mexico on the development of green energy and energy transition, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mexico Mammad Talibov said in an interview with Canal6 TV channel, Report informs.
The diplomat emphasized that Azerbaijan occupies a leading position in the region in the field of transition to environmentally friendly energy and sustainable development: "For this reason, our country actively supports global efforts to combat climate change."
He noted that Azerbaijan is already exporting green energy to Europe and has significant potential in the field of renewable energy sources - especially solar and wind energy.
"The potential of wind energy alone is estimated at 146 gigawatts - this is an impressive figure. We are implementing many projects in cooperation with various countries. So far, we do not have joint initiatives with Mexico, but we are actively working on this. Of course, Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate with its Mexican partners in the field of green energy and energy transition," Talibov said.
