Hungary temporarily relocates its embassy from Iran to Baku

Hungary has temporarily relocated its embassy from Iran to Azerbaijan, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said a video message shared on his social media page, according to SİA.

He noted that six Hungarian citizens had already left Iran via Azerbaijan, after which he instructed the remaining diplomatic staff to do the same.

"I decided to instruct all diplomats and their family members working at our embassy in Tehran to leave Iran. As a result, embassy staff and their families—15 people in total—have been evacuated to Azerbaijan. Until the security situation improves, the embassy's work will be conducted temporarily from Baku. I had to make this decision to protect the lives of those working there and their families, including children," Szijjártó emphasized.
