Assassination on Ivanishvili orchestrated by organizers of the attacks against former U.S. President
"The assassination attempt on Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party, was orchestrated by the same forces that tried to assassinate Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico and former U.S. President Donald Trump," the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze said, SİA reports citing RIA Novosti.
"Recently, two terrorist acts have occured - one in Slovakia and the other in the United States. This is a common signature characterizing global political forces," Kobakhidze said as he commented on the State Security Service's investigation into the assassination attempt.
He stated that Georgia's stance on the Russia-Ukraine war has displeased some parties.
"It is not surprising that, according to the investigation, high-ranking officials of the previous government, who are now physically in Ukraine, appear to have a role in all of this. It is important to prevent such actions, and the state will do everything to achieve this," he said.
Recall that the Georgian State Security Service announced that it is investigating the preparation of an assassination plot against Ivanishvili and some leading individuals of the Georgian Dream party. According to intelligence service, this plan was organized and financed by former Georgian officials residing in Ukraine.
