Ukrainian President signs conscription bill

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed the conscription bill number 10449, SIA reports.

The bill was sent to the president for signing on the morning of April 16.

Zelensky had signed the document by 3:43 p.m.

According to regulations, the law will come into force one month after being signed by the President of Ukraine.

What Does the Conscription Law Entail?

The new document primarily introduces basic military service for a period of 5 months during peacetime and 3 months during wartime as an alternative to conscription. Ukrainians under the age of 24 will be able to choose the type and duration of their basic service.

Military Training in Ukraine

Integrated arms training will also be implemented. Starting from 2025, it will become an integral part of educational institutions, and all equipment will be implemented in formal higher education institutions.

Citizens registered in the military will be able to create a personal electronic cabinet voluntarily for conscripts, conscripts, and reservists.
