Armenian media slam Ministry of Defense: 'This is dishonesty'
The Armenian Defense Ministry bought 15 Hyundai Elantra cars the day after the tragic fire that resulted in the death of 15 conscript soldiers, Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes, SİA informs.
The article states that this cost the state 198 million Armenian drams, or approximately $489,000:
"13.2 million drams or 32,592 dollars were spent on one car. This behavior is dishonest. It turns out that while soldiers at the border are deprived of normal conditions, the high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Defense travel in cars manufactured in 2023."
The newspaper evaluated it as a 'unique approach' for the country's defense.
