Azercosmos, Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan announces the next scientific competition dedicated to Earth observation, SIA refers to the agency's official website.
The main goal of the competition is to accelerate the development of projects carried out with the help of satellite images in Azerbaijan, facilitate scientific activities in our country, contribute to the socio-economic development, and promote Earth observation services and solutions and their application potential in a variety of fields.
Students, teachers, research institutes, individual researchers, state enterprises and representatives of the private sector engaged in research can participate in the competition.
By joining this project, the participants can visualize their ideas related to agriculture, ecology and environment protection, monitoring of areas affected by drought and desertification, efficient use of water resources and sustainable energy sources, urban planning, determination of tourism routes, and many other areas thanks to the capabilities of the Azersky satellite.
Participation in the competition is free of charge. Applications will be accepted until November 30, 2022. After the proposals are evaluated in accordance with the conditions of the competition, the images obtained from the Azersky satellite will be presented to the participants free of charge. Prizes of AZN 5,000, AZN 3,000 and AZN 1,500 will be awarded to the first three places in the competition.

The Earth observation competition launched by Azercosmos since 2016 will give a serious impetus to the development of this field in Azerbaijan.
