The procedure for the initial military registration of citizens is changing in Azerbaijan, this was reflected in the proposed amendment to the law "On Military Duty and Military Service" that was put up for discussion at today's session of the Milli Majlis, SİA reports.
According to the current legislation, male citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who turn 15 years old every year in January-March must register for primary military service with the relevant executive authority at their place of residence or location.
Following the draft, male citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who turn 15 years old not in January-March of each year, but in January-May, must register for primary military service with the authority (institution) determined by the relevant executive authority at the relevant executive authority at their place of residence or location.
The draft law was put to a vote and passed on first reading.
