Azerbaijani and UAE hold political consultations

The third meeting of political consultations between the foreign affairs ministries of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was held in Abu Dhabi, SİA informs, Azerbaijan's MFA.

The political consultations were led by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev and UAE's Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Ms. Lana Zaki Nusseibeh.

During the consultations, extensive exchanges of views were held on the current state and future development prospects of bilateral political, economic, energy, and humanitarian relations.

Opportunities for expanding mutual cooperation in multilateral formats, especially within international organizations including the UN, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and Non-Aligned Movement were discussed. Mutual coordination and cooperation within the framework of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP) was highly appreciated.

The parties also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The UAE side was informed about the post-conflict situation and peace process in the region, including restoration and construction work in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, demining of territories, and the return of citizens to their native lands.

Rzayev also visited the TRENDS Research and Advisory Center of the UAE.

Mohamed Salem Alsalmi, head of the center's research department, provided detailed information about the organization's activities.

Issues of developing cooperation between the center and relevant research centers of Azerbaijan were reviewed.

During his meeting with the center's leadership and researchers, Yalchin Rafiyev discussed Azerbaijan's foreign policy, its position on regional and international processes, and future development prospects of Azerbaijan-UAE cooperation.
