“Moscow hopes that the dispute between the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, and the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, will end soon and will not have a negative impact on mutual activity within the unions,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said this.
He noted that it is difficult to explain the harsh position of the Armenian authorities towards their Belarusian partners to the Kremlin: "Alexander Lukashenko has always emphasized that Minsk is interested in a stable and safe South Caucasus, even in the most difficult times, the Belarusian leader's initiatives are specifically aimed at reconciling the warring parties."
Galuzin underscored that both Armenia and Belarus are members of the CIS, CSTO and the Eurasian Economic Union, and are allies of Russia. He added that ending of the difficult period in relations between Minsk and Yerevan as soon as possible is beneficial for Moscow.
"In any case, we hope that temporary differences of opinion will not have a negative impact on the encouragement of mutual activity within the framework of general integration unions", - the Russian deputy minister concluded his opinion.
