Last year, Azerbaijan increased imports of eco-friendly vehicles 19 times compared to 2021, Advisor to the Ecology and Natural Resources Minister of Azerbaijan Rasim Sattarzada told Report.
“Thanks to incentive measures, there has been a significant increase in imports of cars with electric engines. In 2023, Azerbaijan's import of electric vehicles was 19 times as much as in 2021. Measures are being taken to ensure that this positive trend continues in the coming years,” he said.
According to Sattarzada, to increase the share of electric vehicles in the country’s transport fleet, a special working group has been created to stimulate the circulation of environmentally friendly and safe transport, and comprehensive work is being carried out together with government agencies and representatives of the private sector.
