The world can shape a new path for climate finance that delivers on adaptation, resilience, and the needs of the most affected, Philemon Yang, President of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, said on X.
Yang said “Arrived in beautiful Baku, Azerbaijan, for COP29," where he was greeted by Teymur Musayev, Azerbaijan's Minister of Health, Ambassador Yashar Aliyev, Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN, and Vlandanka Andreeva, UN Resident Coordinator in the country Azerbaijan.
"The stakes are high—together, we can shape a new path for climate finance that delivers on adaptation, resilience, and the needs of the most affected. Let us renew our commitment to urgent climate action. Looking forward to the discussions ahead,” the president of the 79th session of the UNGA stressed.
