China proposes to develop the Belt and Road Initiative to ensure global security, stability and progress, Wang Lei, the military attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan, said at the reception celebrating the 97th anniversary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Report informs.
“Friendly relations between China and Azerbaijan have been going on for centuries. This is proven by the Great Silk Road, which connected the countries two thousand years ago. China and Azerbaijan are sincere and reliable friends and partners. The leaders of both countries signed a joint statement on the establishment of the China-Azerbaijani strategic partnership this year,” Wang Lei said.
According to him, military relations have also developed smoothly under the leadership of the heads of state and highest ranking commanders of both countries, in addition to the relations that have become closer through regional and international cooperation.
“This not only serves the core interests of both countries but also contributes to global and regional peace,” Wang Lei said.
