As a result of Armenia's military aggression against Azerbaijan, 3,983 individuals have been registered as missing persons, said Gazanfar Ahmadov, the Secretary of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during the presentation of the "Assessment Report: Accounting for Missing Persons in the Republic of Azerbaijan" by the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), organized by the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons, APA reports.
The Secretary of the State Commission noted that out of the missing individuals, 3,209 are military personnel, and 774 are civilians. "Out of the 3,983, 285 are women. As a result of Armenia's military aggression against Azerbaijan, 1,702 individuals have been registered by the Commission as persons freed from captivity or hostage. Among them, 419 are military personnel. As can be seen, more civilians are taken captive or held hostage," he said.
