Russia actively supported the idea of the 3+3 format when it was proposed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a press conference, SİA informs.
"Efforts to normalize Turkish-Armenian relations contribute to the normalization of the situation in the South Caucasus and help create the conditions for the still remaining political problems to be resolved much more actively and fruitfully through, among other things, the development of economic and other cooperation between the three countries of the South Caucasus and their three neighbors - Russia, Turkey and Iran," he said.
