The foreign ministers of the countries that signed the Mecca Accord held a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, SİA informs, citing the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
The topics discussed at the meeting were not disclosed.
On August 7, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan signed a collective defense agreement in Mecca. Under the agreement, an attack on one of the participants will be considered an attack on all three countries. Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia have raised the question of whether Türkiye and Pakistan would assist Riyadh.
