On September 24, 2026, a meeting with specialists holding academic degrees was held jointly by the Scientific-Practical and Training Center of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee and the Central Customs Hospital.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways to support clinical research and scientific development, expand research activities in the medical field, and promote the application of modern scientific achievements in medical practice.
Opening the event, Deputy Head of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee, PhD in Medicine, Associate Professor Ismayil Afandiyev, welcomed the participants. In his speech, he provided detailed information about the activities of the Scientific-Practical and Training Center, the organization of medical education, the work of the Bioethics Committee, and the importance of clinical research.
Head of the Scientific-Practical and Training Center of the Medical Service Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences Rashad Mahmudov, shared his views on the above-mentioned areas and called on physicians to participate more actively in clinical and scientific research and further develop their scientific activities.
Head of the Central Customs Hospital and Chief Physician, Doctor of Medical Sciences Bakhtiyar Musayev, spoke about the purpose and objectives of the meeting, emphasizing the importance of the professional development of physicians and the significance of specialists from the hospital serving as moderators. He also highlighted the first scientific and practical achievements attained at the hospital in the region. The speakers shared their experience and recommendations on these areas with the participants.
In addition, Head of the Pathomorphological Diagnostics Department of the Central Customs Hospital and pathomorphologist Zarifa Yusifli, maxillofacial surgeon and implantologist Ulviyya Mammadova, and obstetrician-gynecologist, PhD in Medicine, Sadi Allahverdiyev delivered presentations on the topic and shared their views and recommendations.
During the event, participants discussed the development of new research projects by utilizing the potential of healthcare professionals holding academic degrees, establishing multidisciplinary scientific cooperation, preparing scientific publications, and implementing strategies for the advancement of medical science and practice.
The meeting was held in an interactive format. Participants actively engaged in an open discussion and a question-and-answer session focusing on the future prospects of clinical research, strengthening the scientific and professional network, and sharing experience.
