In January-September of 2024, Azerbaijan's mutual tourism services turnover increased by 42.7% year-on-year, reaching $2.8 billion, SİA informs with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
This growth resulted in a $400 million surplus, with tourism service exports ($1.6 billion) exceeding imports ($1.2 billion).
During this period, the number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad increased by 18.9%, while the number of foreign visitors to Azerbaijan rose by 29.1%.
The value of tourism-related services provided to Azerbaijani residents by foreign countries amounted to $1.2 billion, with 78.4% related to personal trips by Azerbaijani citizens, excluding funds for shuttle imports.
In the non-oil sector, the value of construction services provided to non-residents decreased by 11.4% to $25 million. Meanwhile, the value of other business services provided to non-residents increased by 57.3% to $1.4 billion.
