Iran distorts our history and rewrites it, Mashallah Razmi, an expert on the South Azerbaijan national movement and co-founder of the 'Erk' human rights protection organization, said at the 'Cry of Lake Urmia' event held in Baku.
"They are destroying our culture," he said.
According to him, Lake Urmia faces an ecological disaster:
"Lake Urmia has a vital meaning for Azerbaijan and 14 million people live around it. Currently, 95% of the lake has dried up. In the past, goods were transported through that lake."
