US Congressman responds to action for recognition of Khojaly Genocide
The office of Congressman Joe Courtney (D-CT) has responded to the AAC-ASA Pax Turcica action calling for the recognition of the 1992 Khojaly Massacre.
"Thank you for contacting me regarding recognition of the Khojaly massacre. I appreciate your comments and having the benefit of your views.
As you know, February 2013 marks the 21th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre in which hundreds of Azerbaijanis were killed by Armenian forces during the Nagorno-Karabakh War. The family stories of countless Azeri-Americans are linked to this tragic episode in our world's history.
While there is no legislation currently pending that would extend congressional recognition of the event, please be assured I will keep your support in mind should such legislation be introduced."
