Opening of Khojaly airport can lead to serious crisis – deputy FM
The opening by Armenia of the Khojaly airport in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan could lead to a serious crisis.
The statement came from Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov on the sidelines of the 5th session of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly.
"The co-chairs take a bashful position on the issue of Khojaly airport. They need to understand that if Armenia will make a provocative move, it can cause a serious crisis. Azerbaijan will not forgive this illegal act and will not be silent," he said.
The deputy minister accused the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs of the fact that they often do not show a principled position. "And I would not be surprised if they will not show it in the future," he said.
"Armenian authorities are not interested in resolving the conflict," said Azimov.
