The statement came from chief of department of foreign relations of the Presidential Administration Novruz Mammadov.
He stressed that the Azerbaijani government and the public have
expressed their indignation at the adoption of this bill by the National
Assembly of France.
"No other state has expressed such a firm stance on this issue. We have
always supported Turkey in this matter, and will support it in the
future. Today we bring our position on this issue to the attention of
the French public and leadership and we stand by it till the end",
Mammadov said.
Mammadov noted with regret the existence of some tension in
international relations. According to him, heads of states often
underestimate the implications of their decisions.
According to him, this often lead to sacrificing of important political
interests to opportunistic ends, which is not useful for international
relations.
