Azerbaijan is not evacuating its citizens from Syria at the moment.
The statement came from spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Elman Abdullayev.
The Azerbaijani embassy in Syria is working as usual, he said.
The US Department of State has asked Americans who are in Syria for personal reasons to leave the country immediately.
It also urges citizens planning to visit Syria to abandon their plans at this stage.
Anti-government protests in Syria began in mid-March demanding Bashar Asad to step down and political change.
