First meeting of the Trilateral Permanent Joint Mechanism to be held in Finland

The first meeting of the Trilateral Permanent Joint Mechanism established between Turkiye, Sweden and Finland will be held on August 26 in Finland. Anadolu Agency reported this with reference to the Presidential Administration of Turkiye.

According to the information obtained by SIA, the Turkish delegation, which will be led by the adviser of the president Ibrahim Kal and the deputy minister of foreign affairs Sedat Onal, includes representatives from the ministries of justice, foreign affairs, national defense, interior affairs and security agencies.

On June 28, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö and Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson met in the framework of NATO's Madrid Summit with the participation of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

During the meeting, Finland and Sweden's application for membership in the military alliance was discussed, and in subsequent processes on the issue, Turkiye clearly stated its position - NATO allies cannot support terrorist organizations operating against Turkiye in one form or another.

Finland and Sweden have made a commitment that they will not support the PYD/YPG and FETÖ terrorist organizations, as well as hand over the terrorists requested by Turkiye to Ankara. In the past period, Sweden and Finland have not taken real steps towards the fulfillment of their obligations towards Turkiye.
