Are Russian Forces running out of ammunition?

Since the start of the full-scale war, the Russian Forces have tripled the number of used ammunition, military expert Petr Chernik said in a press statement, SIA refers to Ukrainian media.

According to him, 95 percent of the war today is still artillery warfare. Although the expert says that "shell scarcity" has been observed in the Russian Federation, he does not evaluate it as critical yet.

Chernik says that, at the beginning of the war, the Russian side had 15-20 million shells of various calibers.

Chernik also cited the example of the United States, which had only 2.5 million shells in reserve at the beginning of the year.

The expert added that either the Russian Forces have already used up most of their missiles, or it's the result of Ukrainian soldiers destroying their reserves.

"They can produce up to 125,000 rounds per month. Classic summer artillery fire is 60,000 to 80,000 rounds per day. So that's a two-day rate," Chernik said.
