Estonia's Foreign Minister calls for Russia's total isolation

Estonia’s top diplomat called for the “complete isolation” of Russia’s financial system and an oil-price cap that would cripple the nation’s energy producers, extending punitive measures to cover the whole economy, SIA refers to Bloomberg.

Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu, who has been among the most outspoken European Union officials in calling for the bloc to help Ukraine defend itself against the invasion, said the EU needed to go much further in providing Kyiv with weapons and funding — and isolating Moscow.

He also criticized the allocation of two billion euros to finance the supply of arms to Ukraine. According to the minister, Kiev spent $50 billion on military operations.

According to the Estonian minister, two billion euros is not enough, "we have to talk about bigger amounts in the future" he noted.

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Siyyajarto, stated that the ninth package of sanctions against Russia will not affect nuclear energy.

The European Union plans to expand the list of goods banned from export to Russia. This list may also include equipment for the aviation and space industry.
