The Russian government is set to introduce a price ceiling on airline tickets by September 2025.
SİA informs via Izvestia that all Russian air carriers will be required to submit an internal document justifying their fare policies.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation have sent joint letters to airlines, recommending guidelines for the formation of key provisions in their commercial policies. Two carriers have already responded, stating that the share of airline tickets priced below the economically justified tariff will be at least 60%, while tickets at the maximum tariff will account for less than 2.5%.
The current commercial policies do not impose a normative limit on the maximum airfare prices.
