In May of this year, 244,079 foreign citizens and stateless persons visited Azerbaijan, marking a 2% increase compared to May of last year.
According to SİA, citing data from the State Tourism Agency, the largest number of tourists came from Russia — 62,809 visitors, though this figure was 9% lower than a year earlier.
Türkiye ranked second with 41,299 tourists (+10%), followed by India with 23,326 tourists (down 21%).
Among other countries, there was a significant increase in tourist numbers from:
Israel: 6,452 visitors (+98%)
Saudi Arabia: 10,090 visitors (+54%)
South Korea: 3,776 visitors (+31%)
Kazakhstan: 8,934 visitors (+29%)
China: 5,821 visitors (+23%)
Pakistan: 6,747 visitors (+17%).
