A total of 134 employees from 32 state agencies in Azerbaijan became victims of hacker attacks in 2024, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security told SİA.
According to the state service, citizens who did not follow information security and personal cyber hygiene rules while using the internet also became victims of hacker attacks. Statistics were recorded for citizens who became victims of hacker attacks, losing not only their personal computer data but also authentication (login, password) and personal information related to government electronic services they used. Throughout the year, the total number of government electronic service accounts leaked from citizens to hackers was 3,798.
The state service informed relevant government agencies about the detected infection cases, took necessary steps to eliminate the consequences, and conducted on-site inspections at several institutions.
