Targeting sweet-toothed high rollers, one Las Vegas bakery is selling a $750 cupcake, SIA reports citing Daily Mail.

The aptly named Decadence D'Or, on the menu at The Palazzo hotel's Sweet Surrender store, is crafted out of Venezuelan chocolate, Tahitian vanilla butter cream, 100-year-old cognac and gold leaf.

Apart from the ingredients - and indeed the price - another unique feature is its fancy fleur-de-lis shape.

The sugary treat was the brainchild of French pastry chef, Johann Springinsfeld.

He said he was challenged by his boss to create something 'memorable' and decided to work with the world's most sought-after baking ingredients.
