The works done within the national reproductive health strategy and healthy maternity program and achievements in Azerbaijan attracts the attention of the international organizations, SIA reports.
The Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Mr. Heimo Laakkonen has sent a letter to the Health Ministry of Azerbaijan in this regard.
Mr.Heimo Laakkonen stresses that the country has achieved significant reduction of perinatal mortality rates due to the strong level of perinatal treatment service and operative functioning of perinatal centers.
The UNFPA official highly assesses the Ministry’s activity in implementation of relative programs in the field of reproductive health and family planning.
