There is a need to hold systematic work among youth to avert drug addiction.
The statement came from Education Minister Misir Mardanov.
He noted that he has no information about drug spread among schoolchildren.
"However, as is known, there is the decree of President Ilham Aliyev on fighting drug addiction. The due commission periodically sits and studies the situation", the minister said.
He also noted that the level of drug addiction in Azerbaijan is not as high as in other countries.
"However, we should not take an awaiting position. Every citizen must fight this evil. Undoubtedly, there is a need to hold preventive work", the minister added.
