The number of teachers in
Azerbaijani comprehensive schools decreased by 10000 after the
implementation of age limit, said Education Minister Misir Mardanov.
According to him, at present about 150 000 teachers work at the secondary schools, and it is above normal: "Nowadays 1 300 thousand pupils get education in Azerbaijani schools. Indeed we want to create one teacher/12-12 pupils balance. While the number of pupils is 1 300 thousand, it is needed to decrease the number of teachers".
Answering question "How is it regulated to return the resigned teachers to the work after the age limit criteria determined by the Cabinet of Ministers", the minister said: "Of course that issue had to be solved in advance. The criteria had to be determined after giving a new order. The teacher has been already dismissed, if new appointment was to his or her place, it is late to return".
