Kuban resident sentenced to 11 years in prison for setting railway on fire
The Krasnodar Regional Court has sentenced 19-year-old local resident Ilya Mironichev to 11.5 years of imprisonment for setting fire to a railway relay cabinet.

According to the verdict, he must spend the first year of his sentence in a regular prison and the remaining period in a high-security colony.
On May 2, 2023, Mironichev set fire to the relay cabinet near the village of Dinskaya, close to the Agronom village. He was accompanied by an underage acquaintance who recorded the incident. Witnesses claim that Mironichev decided to damage the equipment after receiving an offer on Telegram to start a fire for an unspecified sum of 10,000 rubles from unknown individuals. There is no information about the possible punishment for the alleged accomplice, said to be a minor.
Since the extensive occupation of Ukraine by Russia and particularly after Vladimir Putin partially declared martial law, anti-war activists in many regions of Russia have started to set fire to military commissariats, police departments, and city administrations.
It is not a coincidence that there are currently over a hundred such incidents known. According to Mediazona, more than 100 criminal cases have been opened solely for attacks on railway infrastructure.
It should be noted that one-fifth of all suspects are minors.
