The special operations units of the United States and South Korea has conducted joint military exercises over the course of two weeks.
Amid North Korea's consecutive missile tests escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula and its surroundings, a joint military exercise was carried out by the United States and South Korea as a deterrent measure against Pyongyang, SIA refers to foreign media.
In a statement from the United States Forces Korea (USFK), it was reported that special operations units from South Korea and the U.S. conducted a joint military exercise lasting for two weeks.
It was noted that the location and time of the exercise were not disclosed, but the training involved U.S. Special Operations Forces and U.S. SEAL (Sea, Air, Land) commandos, including soldiers from South Korea's Special Warfare Command and police from the special operations unit. The exercise took place in an urban training area within the scenario of "Rescue of Time-Sensitive Targets."
The statement emphasized that the South Korea-U.S. alliance exemplifies international teamwork based on common priorities and integrated deterrence.
Despite international reactions, North Korea, which continues its missile tests, recently launched short-range ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan and intercontinental ballistic missiles, with consecutive missiles falling outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.
