Georgia's risks of involvement in war not completely eliminated, says PM Garibashvili

Georgia was able to avoid enmity with the Russian Federation, its threat was quite real, but the corresponding risks have not been completely eliminated.

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said Monday while speaking about the government's activities in his annual report, SIA refers to foreign media.

"Georgia's risks of involvement in the war have not been completely eliminated," the politician stated.

Garibashvili emphasized that radical groups operating within the country are directly interested in dragging Georgia into conflict with Russia.

"Interfax" reports that, according to the head of the Georgian government, the country's leadership has been able to resist these efforts thanks to a policy based primarily on national interests and the interests of the Georgian people.

During a conversation with journalists at the end of his two-day visit to the CIS summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that relations between the Russian Federation and Georgia are normal.

In addition, the capitals of the two countries are interested in bilateral cooperation.
