Pakistan continues humanitarian aid to Turkiye despite economic difficulties
Despite economic difficulties, Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to support those affected by the earthquake.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has once again declared his determination to help those affected by natural disasters in Turkiye and Syria as a result of the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaras on February 6th, SIA refers to foreign media.
According to the Pakistani media, Prime Minister Sharif met with the search and rescue team returning from Turkiye in the capital Islamabad.
The PM emphasized in his statement that despite the economic difficulties, they are determined to help the victims of the earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria.
Expressing that Pakistan and Turkiye are one soul in two bodies, Sharif said, "You (Search and rescue team) have strengthened this long-term relationship with your commendable service to the earthquake victims."
Expressing his satisfaction with the efforts made by Pakistan's National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) for earthquake victims, Sharif noted that the government has ordered 50,000 winter tents for Turkey.
The first ship of the Pakistan Navy carrying 1000 tons of aid for the victims of the natural disaster in Turkiye left Karachi yesterday. So far, Pakistan has sent 7,000 winter tents and more than 33,000 blankets to Turkiye by land and air.
It is planned to send 4,000 winter tents to Turkiye by air within the next two weeks.
In addition, "Al Khidmat" foundation, "Edhi" foundation, "Beytuselam Sailani Refah" foundation and Pakistan Red Crescent also carry out various aid activities in Turkiye.
