The international tournament among young boxers was concluded in Subotica, Serbia. The Azerbaijani national team won 4 medals in the competition in which 189 athletes from 21 countries competed.
Kanan Babayev (48 kg), who defeated Tali Taba from India and Uslam Seksenbayev from Kazakhstan, faced Vishwanath Suresh (India) in the final. As the opponent won the battle, our European champion won the silver medal.
Sabuhi Alizade (+92 kg), the heaviest boxer of our nation, also finished the tournament in second place. Having won over Mikita Maliuta (Ukraine) and Ivan Yermolenko (Kazakhstan), our boxer challenged Alexander Zelinsky (Ukraine) in the final. Since the opponent won the match, Alizadeh climbed to the second step of the honorary chair.
The Azerbaijani team finished the tournament with 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. Previously, Daniel Kholostenko (71 kg) and Fatali Ismayilov (80 kg) took the 3rd place in our team.
