On 27 October 2026, a meeting was held at the Central Customs Hospital with representatives of the Finnish company Orion in Azerbaijan. The meeting focused on women’s health, improving medical services during menopause, and the prospects for establishing a Menopause Health Centre at the hospital.
The meeting was attended by Ismayil Afandiyev, Deputy Head of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee; Tarana Bayramova, Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the Central Customs Hospital; obstetrician-gynecologists Mehriban Amirova, Nigar Mammadova, Raziyya Tapdigova, and Leyla Gachayeva; Shahla Mirzazade, a specialist at the Scientific, Practical and Training Centre; Rumiya Karimova, Head of Orion’s Representative Office in Azerbaijan; Khayala Nadirova, Medical Representative; and other specialists.
Opening the meeting, Ismayil Afandiyev welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of protecting women’s health, particularly ensuring that medical services during menopause are organized in line with modern standards. He noted that establishing a Menopause Health Centre at the Central Customs Hospital would be important for the comprehensive assessment of women’s health, providing medical support tailored to individual needs, and developing specialized services in this field. He also highlighted the importance of implementing modern medical approaches and expanding professional cooperation.
Rumiya Karimova, Head of Orion’s Representative Office in Azerbaijan, emphasized the importance of modern clinical protocols, scientific advances, and international experience in safeguarding women’s health during menopause.
During the meeting, participants exchanged views on opportunities to improve the quality of medical services provided to women during menopause, learn from international best practices, organize scientific and practical events, and expand knowledge and professional experience sharing among specialists.
