A Seminar on “Pre-Analytical Errors: Hemolysis, Icterus and Lipemia Indices, and Sample Rejection Criteria” to Be Held at the Central Customs Hospital

On 6 November 2026, from 15:00 to 16:00, another scientific and educational seminar for medical residents will be held at the Central Customs Hospital, organized by the Scientific-Practical and Training Centre of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee.

At the seminar, Dr. Gulshan Babayeva, Laboratory Physician at the Central Customs Hospital, will deliver a presentation on “Pre-Analytical Errors: Hemolysis, Icterus and Lipemia Indices, and Sample Rejection Criteria”.

The seminar aims to ensure the accuracy of laboratory diagnostic results, identify errors occurring at the pre-analytical stage, and familiarize participants with the principles of biological sample quality control. The event will provide an important opportunity for residents to expand their theoretical knowledge and develop professional approaches to laboratory processes.

The seminar will cover in detail the effects of hemolysis, icterus and lipemia indices on laboratory test results, proper procedures for biological sample collection and transportation, criteria for accepting and rejecting samples received by the laboratory, as well as methods for preventing pre-analytical errors. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and gain insights into key aspects of quality control in laboratory diagnostics.

Aimed at promoting the exchange of scientific and practical knowledge, the seminar will contribute to enhancing residents’ awareness of laboratory diagnostics and developing their decision-making skills for future clinical practice.

The seminar is intended for laboratory physicians, medical residents and mid-level healthcare professionals.

Participation in the seminar is free of charge. Advance registration is mandatory!
