Serbia’s REC releases results from 100% of polling stations in snap parliamentary vote
The Republic Electoral Commission (REC) of Serbia has released the final results from 100% of polling stations in the country’s snap parliamentary elections, confirming a victory for the Student List movement with 53.01% of the vote.
The United Serbia coalition of former President Aleksandar Vucic secured 38.98%. No other political parties managed to clear the 3% electoral threshold.
The newly elected parliament will also include several lawmakers representing national minorities, who are exempt from the threshold requirement.
On Sunday, repeat voting was held at 53 polling stations nationwide following a directive by the REC.
The snap elections for Serbia's unicameral parliament, the National Assembly, took place on October 25. Vucic had previously conceded defeat and announced his transition into the opposition.
