Azerbaijan's national team of women's volleyball players, who qualified for the final stage of the European Championship, returned to their homeland today.
Officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation, relatives of the athletes, and media representatives welcomed our national team, which has qualified for Euro-2023, at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The team of Eldar Yusubov, who fought in Group D of the Euro-2023 qualifying round, faced the Austrian team on September 10 - in the last round.
Our volleyball players, who defeated their opponent 3:1 in the away game, advanced to the final stage of the European Championship.
The final stage of the championship will be held in Belgium, Italy, Estonia and Germany. The Slovenian national team took the first place in group D, where our national team is located. Azerbaijan qualified as the second in the group.
