Azerbaijani athletes are athletes, who are distinguished by their strength, says President Ilham Aliyev
"Dear athletes. You returned to Homeland from Konya a few days ago, you returned with a great victory. You once again raised sports glory of our country. I sincerely congratulate you on this occasion and want to express my gratitude to you for the achieved successes. I am certain that people of Azerbaijan are proud of you. Because you have once again showed the whole world that Azerbaijan is a country of sports, Azerbaijani athletes are the athletes who are distinguished by their strength," said President Ilham Aliyev on August 22 in his speech while meeting with athletes who won medals at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games, SİA reports.
"The results are obvious. Because the institutions responsible for sports should always be together with the athletes, they should know each athlete and deal with his problems," the head of state said.
