The President of the Judo Federation met with coaches and athletes

President of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation Rashad Nabiyev had a meeting with coaches and judokas representing Sabirabad and Imishli districts during his visit to Sabirabad on April 8. According to the information given by press service of the organization to SIA, during the meeting, it was reported that about 60 young people and teenagers are participating in judo in Sabirabad region and about 120 in Imishli region.

There are athletes from both regions who qualified for the Azerbaijani championship by taking part in the latest regional championships among juniors under 15 years old.

Also, Said Orujov from Imishli region won a bronze medal in the +100 kg weight class at the Azerbaijani championship among youth under 21 year olds held in late February. Rashad Nabiyev noted that one of the main goals of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation is to support the physical and spiritual development of children, adolescents and youth by further popularizing judo. Emphasizing the great potential for the development of judo in both regions, Rashad Nabiyev gave instructions to improve the material and technical base, and recommended coaches to work with children and adolescents in accordance with modern requirements.
