Eder Militao pens Real Madrid extension until June 2028

Real Madrid have announced that Eder Militao has signed a new contract at Bernabeu, with the centre-back's terms now due to run until the end of the 2027-28 campaign, according to Sports Mole.

The 26-year-old has made 143 appearances for Los Blancos since arriving from Porto in 2019, scoring 11 goals and registering five assists in the process.

Militao was not a regular in either of his first two seasons at Bernabeu, but he became first choice at the start of the 2021-22 campaign and has impressed for the Spanish giants in their last two seasons.

The Brazil international has been restricted to just one appearance this season, though, as he picked up a serious knee injury during the team's La Liga opener against Athletic Bilbao back in August.

At the time, there were fears that the ACL injury would keep him out for the remainder of the season, but he has stepped up his recovery in recent weeks and is set to play a part before the end of the campaign.

Real Madrid have now announced that Militao's future has been secured, with the defender's new contract at Bernabeu due to run until June 2028.

"Real Madrid C. F. and Eder Militao have agreed to extend they player's contract with the club until 30 June 2028," read a statement on the capital outfit's official website.

"Militao joined Real Madrid in 2019, aged 21, and in his five seasons wearing our jersey he's become one of the best centre-backs in the world."

The Brazilian has won two La Liga titles during his time at Real Madrid, in addition to the Copa del Rey, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and two Spanish Super Cups.
