AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced his retirement from football at the age of 41 on Sunday, putting an end to a brilliant career, SİA reports citing Teletrader.

"I say goodbye to football but not to you," the striker told the crowds following Milan's 3-1 triumph over Hellas Verona. Ibrahimovic kicked off his professional career at Malmo FF in 1999, going on to play for football giants including Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Inter Milan, and Milan.

He retires as Sweden's all-time best scorer with 62 goals, having scored 511 in total and won league titles in four different countries.
